Play and replay

Choose a mission and follow its five picture steps to shape the dough pieces. An adult reads a matching card, such as making five gray moon rocks, pressing a crater into each rock, or building two blue and two purple satellite panels. Fill the guides and count what you have made. Clear the mat to try a new texture, color combination or card. Children can name their mission and describe the finished scene before moving to the next one.

Print and prepare

You will need a printer, paper, playdough and scissors for adult use. Print on US Letter paper at 100% or Actual Size with automatic orientation: mats are landscape; the cover, guide and card pages are portrait. Protect mats with sleeves or lamination before adding dough. An adult prepares the cards, reads prompts and supervises play.

Good to know

Is this a physical product? No. This is a printable digital PDF activity kit. No printed pages, playdough, printer, scissors or other supplies are included or shipped.

Can the mats be used again? Protect the printed mats with reusable sleeves or lamination before adding dough. Remove the dough to try another task card or color combination. Unprotected paper is not washable.

Does a grown-up need to help? Yes. An adult prepares and cuts the task cards, reads the prompts and supervises play. Playdough and pretend food are not for eating.

Colors may vary with your screen, printer, ink and paper. Choose one favorite mat to begin, then try a different card when you are ready for a new creation.
