Inside the set

Play and replay

Choose a mat and follow the five picture steps to roll, flatten, bend or shape the dough. An adult reads the matching card. Challenges include making five coral sea-star arms, pressing fingertip dimples, matching arm lengths or filling six turtle-shell spaces. Remove the dough and choose another prompt or color combination. Invite children to describe their sea creature, then rebuild it or explore a different ocean scene.

Print and prepare

You will need a printer, paper, playdough and scissors for adult use. Print on US Letter paper at 100% or Actual Size with automatic orientation: mats are landscape; the cover, guide and card pages are portrait. Protect mats with sleeves or lamination before adding dough. An adult prepares the cards, reads prompts and supervises play.
