Play and replay

Choose a face and follow the five picture steps to roll, flatten, curl or bend the dough. An adult reads a matching card, such as adding four yellow curls and a pink smile or making a mixed-color curl pattern. Clear the mat and try another combination. Talk about how your character might feel and make up a story together.

Print and prepare

You will need a printer, paper, playdough and scissors for adult use. Print on US Letter paper at 100% or Actual Size with automatic orientation: mats are landscape; the cover, guide and card pages are portrait. Protect mats with sleeves or lamination before adding dough. An adult prepares the cards, reads prompts and supervises play.
