Inside the set

The set covers all 26 letters, with pictures including a caterpillar, duck, flower, jellyfish, kite, rainbow, turtle and zebra. Children form letter shapes and match each letter with its pictured object.

Play and replay

Choose a mat together and name the big letter, little letter and pictured object. Follow the five picture steps to build both letters and fill the object guides; printed details remain on the page. An adult reads a matching card aloud. Prompts include building Aa and the apple, choosing colors, or looking, remembering and rebuilding. Remove the dough and return to the same letter or select another one.

Print and prepare

You will need a printer, paper, playdough and scissors for adult use. Print on US Letter paper at 100% or Actual Size with automatic orientation: mats are landscape; the cover, guide and card pages are portrait. Protect mats with sleeves or lamination before adding dough. An adult prepares the cards, reads prompts and supervises play.
